Circular Economy - Basic concepts, practices, and framework
The Circular Economy is a system in which products and materials are kept in circulation to reduce waste and ease pressure on the planet. It stands in contrast to the traditional linear model of extracting resources, producing and consuming short-lived goods, and throwing them away. The Circular Economy is, therefore, a valuable asset in moving towards more sustainability.
Are you a student, professional, or responsible for an organization and would like to build your understanding of the Circular Economy? In this course, you will familiarize yourself with the basic concepts of Circular Economy and learn about different circular practices and how to implement them.
Learning goals
By the end of this course, the learner will be able to:
• Describe what the circular economy is
• Explain why it is important to transition towards a more circular economy
• Understand basic concepts, framework, and terminologies, such as the framework and the sharing economy
• Understand the social, economic, and environmental effects of the Circular Economy
• Name areas that are expected to grow in a circular economy context
