Diverse Strengths

Diverse Strengths was a two-year project co-funded by the Nordplus Adult programme. It was implemented by 3 partner organizations in 3 Nordic countries: Hitt Husid in Iceland, LIVE in Finland and SwIdeas in Sweden.

The aim of the project was to develop pedagogical tools and take a blended learning approach, to create workshops used for competence development in reaching the labor market. Each workshop was adjusted to all partner countries.

The target group included young adults, 18-25 years old, with an immigration background and/or language barriers who are in the NEET group (not in education, employment or training). The goal was to support them in utilizing and realizing their strengths, boost employability, and help them to get active again.

Since we have similar challenges in our work, we each partner brought different perspectives and experiences to the table. By learning from the past’s successes and failures, this transnational initiative helped us create useful tools in facing this societal task that can be utilized across all participating countries.

The final product of this project is a handbook on how to execute these workshops, with instructional videos explaining implementation and other details. This material was made available on the project’s website.
